This course encompasses the concepts, clinical practice and techniques
associated with clinical chemistry. It involves the study of blood analytes,
methods of blood collection, and the correct performance of analytic procedures that yield
accurate and precise information, aiding patient diagnosis and treatment of
diseases. This course also includes the
discussion on the importance of different body processes, the principles of the
analytical procedures; interpretation of results and clinical significance of
the physiologically important substances found in the blood. Quality Assurance
and Laboratory Safety are also given emphasis.
