COURSE DESCRIPTION:

       The course provides the students with the basic/necessary knowledge, skills, and acceptable attitudes in the care of individuals and families.  It includes comfort measures applied to individual clients and the administration of drugs.

COURSE OUTCOMES

At the end of the course, the student will be able to develop knowledge, skills, and attitude in providing nursing measures in the care of individuals and families including drug administration. Specifically:

1. Perform history taking and physical assessment

2. Utilize Health Care Process in the care of individuals and families

3. Conduct health education on health promotion and prevention of illness

4. Provide common emergency measures and rendering basic life support

5. Administer drugs with doctor’s order following the 10 R’s of Medication

CP-100 (CLINICAL PRACTICUM 100)

Course Description: The Course develops the students’ basic skills in the care of individuals and families.

Course Objectives: At the end of the semester, the students will have developed the necessary competencies in instituting nursing measures including drug administration.

Course Credits:3 units

Contact Hours:3 x 51/hr = 153 hours

Pre-requisitesThis is taken simultaneously with M-100. The students must pass both M-100 for them to be qualified for a higher professional course.

This is a two – unit course that deals with the concept of Physical Education and Physical Fitness. It also provides opportunities for Physical Fitness Testing and the students participation in the development and maintenance of fitness such as aerobics, self – testing activities, which concern on the development of the muscular strength, flexibility, cardio-vascular endurance, speed, agility, coordination and self-achievement through performance of certain skills.

INTRODUCTION OF NATIONAL SERVICE TRAINING PROGRAM (R.A. NO. 9163)

 

Pursuant to Section 12 of Republic Act No. 9163, otherwise known as the National Service Training Program (NSTP) Act of 2001, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Department of National Defense (DND), in consultation with concerned government agencies, the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC), the coordinating Council of Private Education Association of the Philippines (COcOPEA), Non-Government Organizations and recognized student organizations, hereby jointly issue, adopt and promulgate the following implementing rules and regulations to implement the provisions of the Act.
