The Competency Appraisal and Review Program was created to address the academic needs and concerns of students and graduates as they prepare for the Midwifery Board Examination. This shall be attended by all level II students who had finished their Clinical Education 1. The Course Audit I, II and III is the initial preparation of graduating students. COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The course is designed to give an extensive preparation on the different subject areas catered in the licensure examination – Clinical Chemistry, Clinical Microbiology and Parasitology, and Clinical Microscopy. This is to prepare the students in the different theoretical aspects of techniques employed in the Clinical Laboratory and to give the students a view of the different subject areas of the licensure examination.
The course shall serve as a review on the basic
concepts of normal pregnancy, labor and delivery, puerperium and the care of
newborn; introduction of concepts related to family planning and responsible
parenthood. It includes intravenous insertion, vaginal examination and
suturing. It also strengthens the knowledge of Midwifery 2 students on the
basic concepts of Anatomy and Physiology which include the definition of
anatomical terms, correlation of human biologic structure with normal
physiologic function.
